  1. XFERPRO version 1.1.1 was released in May 1996.
  2. The following new capabilities/fixes are provided:
  3.  
  4. - When dropping files and the default decoding is set to
  5.   "based on data input," failure to decode will provide
  6.   the user an option to encode the file. This is required
  7.   since the file extension and the /E encode option cannot
  8.   be used to determine that encoding is desired when dragging-
  9.   and-dropping files.
  10.  
  11. - Improved MIME base64 header interpretation logic to determine
  12.   filename when data is split across multiple lines as well as
  13.   locating encoded data.
  14.  
  15. - MIME base64 encoding header information updated when creating
  16.   multiple enclosures.
  17.  
  18. - Capability to accept encoded data using only carraige returns
  19.   whereby previously a newline was required.
  20.  
  21. - Ability to manually force binhex decoding from the
  22.   Configure|Decode dialog box.
  23.  
  24. - Ability to specify which encoding method to use with command
  25.   line operation (see -E command line argument)
  26.  
  27. - The users desktop color scheme is used instead of a
  28.   fixed Xferpro color scheme.
  29.  
  30. - Multiple enclosures now supported for binhex 4.0 decoding.

  32. - Binhex encoding now uses MIME headers to allow interoperability
  33.   with some newer email programs which don't support raw binhex
  34.   data. Xferpro Binhex decoding also supports binhex files wrapped
  35.   in MIME email headers.

  37. - Binhex file type/creator (for Macintosh decoders) changed from
  38.   TEXT/BnHq to the PC file extension and XFRP. For example, a
  39.   binhexed GIF file would have the type/creator set to GIF/XFRP.

  41. - 5.25" diskette no longer available for ordering.

  43. - Improved and updated on-line help.

  45. - Setup program can update the Windows 95 registry for filename
  46.   association (when running under Windows 95).

  48. - Setup program improved to disallow the install and destination
  49.   directories being the same. Previously, setup would just fail
  50.   in the destination directory was the same as where the install
  51.   files were located.
  52.  
  53. - Sabasoft is now a member of the Association of Shareware
  54.   Professionals (ASP). The on-line help has been updated to
  55.   reflect the ASP requirements.

  57. - Credit cards are now accepted for payment, and the
  58.   on-line order form reflects the new options.

  62. XFERPRO version 1.1 was released in August 1995.
  63. The following new capabilities are provided:
  64.  
  65. - Binhex 4.0 encoding and decoding to allow communication
  66.   with Apple Macintosh computers. Only the Macintosh data
  67.   fork is supported.
  68.  
  69. - Support of two more multipart formats: America On-Line
  70.   and Squirrel 3.0.
  71.  
  72. - Decode method (i.e. UU, XX, MIME, and Binhex 4.0) is automatically
  73.   determined from file data rather than file extension, freeing
  74.   the user from having to know particular decoding details. This
  75.   makes XferPro even easier to use than ever. To support this
  76.   capability, the default is that all files on the command line
  77.   are assumed to be decoded (see /E option below for encoding
  78.   files on the command line).

  80. - /E option: indicates that all files on the command line should
  81.   be encoded rather than the default of decoding them
  82.   (part of above capability).
  83.  
  84. - Multiple enclosure support for both encoding and decoding. This
  85.   capability operates with file formats of single file for UU or
  86.   XX methods, and also for MIME and Binhex methods.

  88. - /O option: you can now specify the output file on the command line
  89.   for both encoding and decoding.

  91. - Additional on-line help was added for trouble shooting problems.
  92.   In addition, the user is reminded to double-check the output
  93.   whenever any built-in decoding integrity checks are manually
  94.   over-ridden.

  96. - The decoding default was changed to treating all specified files
  97.   as part of a large multiple part archive instead of several
  98.   individual files to decode. This can be changed back to the
  99.   original option via a configuration command if so desired.

  101. - Additional logic was added to help better decode multiple part formats.

  103. - Filename processing was added to ensure the specified output filename
  104.   contained in the encoded file can be accepted by DOS/Windows.

  108. XFERPRO version 1.0 was released for the first time in July
  109. 1994. The followng capabilities are provided:

  111. - Support of MIME 1.0, UU, and XX encoding and decoding.

  113. - Support of 16 single and multiple file formats commonly used to
  114.   send information and binary files via internet e-mail. Instead of
  115.   providing yet another non-standard multiple part format,
  116.   interoperability with many existing UU, XX, and MIME encoders is
  117.   provided.

  119. - Exclusive ability to accept multiple parts in any order so the user
  120.   doesnÆt have to waste time piecing them together manually or with
  121.   separate programs. Let XFERPRO do the work for you!

  123. - Full drag-and-drop support.

  125. - Completely configurable to a userÆs favorite options.

  127. - Extensive on-line help, error checking, status information, and user
  128.   choices during operation.

  130. - Options to allow and facilitate program launch from other applications.

  132. - An electronic on-line order form is provided which allows the user to
  133.   type the registration information into a dialog box and print the order
  134.   instead of requiring the user to first print an order form and then hand
  135.   writing the order. In addition, the on-line order form automatically
  136.   calculates the order price.
